Última Semana Da Transferência

Image
I've been here one more week which means one more email. This transfer has absolutely blown by without warning. It definitely was one of the more successful transfers that I've had. We brought a ton of people to church and planeted infinite seeds so now we just need farm them. This transfer is going to be dope. Trading comps is defintely one of the hardest parts of the mission, but this transfer with Elder Ynga was definitely one to remember and we have a ton of cool stories to tell. This next transfer I get a new comp and I'm staying in the area. Elder Cadiente is my new comp for this transfer. He's was AP last transfer and this is going to be his last transfer. He's from Arizona which is way cool and it's gonna be super cool to learn from him. We are gonna push the limits with how hard we can work and our goal is10 baptisms. This week was defintely an amazing week to end the transfer off. We saw a ton of miracles and witness the gospel working through the peop...

Dois Passos Pra Frente, Um Pra Trás

Time has flown by way to fast this transfer. I feel like I got in the area yesterday and now we're in the last week of the transfer. This transfer has had a ton of successes and also quite a few frustrating moments, but it has been awesome. This new area I'm in has been super cool and is full of awesome people. The only problem is somethings happening that I never thought would happen. WE'RE BRINGING TO MANY PEOPLE TO CHURCH. Usually the struggle is to get people to church the first time and then after they realize that our church is the True Church, but it's been weird this transfer. Over the last 4 weeks we've brought 40 different people to church, but they aren't able to come back again. This month is super busy with the holiday São João coming up, so hopefully when everything calms down these people will be able to come more times and then we'll get them dunk. São João is super big here. It started today and its super crazy. The three big things are corn...

Duas Semanas Em Uma

Definitely forgot to send my email last week so this ones gonna be a little bit longer.  These last two weeks have been pretty crazy. We have had a crazy transfer with mission tour and mission conference so it has been cool. I'm just gonna make a list of the cool/crazy stuff that happend in the last little while. #1. We have been teaching a family of 4 for the last couple of weeks. It is a grandma and her 3 grandkids. We had then marked for baptism and everything was going awesome. Last Sunday we went to get them to go to church together and the grandma was super sick, so we just took her oldest grandson. The next week we went to teach them everyday like normal and the grandma was still sick. Sunday rolls around and we pass by their house. The grandma was sitting outside her house in a rocking chair and she wasn't breathing very well. I asked where her grandkids were and she said they were sleeping because they stayed up with her all night. I told her she need the hospital that...

Tour Da Missão

One more week down in the transfer and were starting it off with a bang. This week was super successful and we we able to learn a ton of new ways to improve and help people become converted to the gospel.  This week was probably one of the most fun weeks I've had in the mission.  Cool things of the week: 1. I got to know the new district this week. Our district is super dope and full of a bunch of dawgs. We have a pretty small district, but everyone is super experienced. It's crazy that I have 10 months in the mish and I'm still one of the youngest people in our district. This is something that has helped me a lot. Being able to learn from the people who have been here longer and to see their different styles and personalities while teaching. 2. Finally got to see my trainer after 6 months. Since I left training in my first area I hadn't seen my trainer at all, even at zone conference. Seeing as you see half the mission every zone conference the odds of that are pretty ...

Madalena

Whats up everybody. This week was super cool and I had a lot of fun. I was transferred to Area Madalena which was super cool. Its is basically in the center of the city and has a ton of different people. Its really awesome because it has a ton of favelas to teach the poorer people, but also has a ton of skyscrapers and stores which is good to have stuff to do on pday. Also a plus is I have a McDonald's in my area for the days I dont have meber meals. I also got a new comp this week, Elder Ynga. He was my district leader 2 transfers ago so I already knew him pretty well coming here. He is from Peru and is super dope. This week we were able to work really hard and actually see a decent amount of success which was really rewarding. This week I was able to get to know the members of the ward and we were able to set some plans up to help baptize people and to make some activities. One of the best parts about the ward here is that basically the whole leadership is new. Which means everyo...

A Final Semana Aqui Em Moreno

I'm convinced the hardest part of the mission is getting transfered. Today we got transfer letters and I'm getting transferred to Madelena. The last 3 months I've had here in Moreno have been super rewarding and I wouldn't trade them for anything. I have made some friendships here that I'll have for the rest of my life and have learned to be a better missionary. There is a recent convert here João Vitor that is 13 years old and he was baptized a month before I got here. He is one of my best friends now. He's left to come teach with us almost every single day and is one of the best kids I know. It was super hard saying goodbye to him, but I'll definitely visit him before I come home off the mission. This week was honestly pretty slow. There was a ton of rain, but despite that we still were able to see miracles. It ended up raining Tuesday until Friday and the streets turned into rivers. It was definitely not ideal teaching conditions, but we were able to make...

Pday Na Praia

Back again for one more week. This week has been super cool and we were able to accomplish a lot. We started out this week having hardly anyone in our teaching pool which was rough. We worked really hard to find some people and to help the few we have progress. It paid off. We ended up finding 20 people this week that all have really good potential to progress. We also had a lady that weve been teaching finally accept to be baptized. The highlight of this week was the young mens activity. We were able to have an activity on Friday night which was a blessing because it has been super hard to set up activities. We invited 10 of the kids thay we have been teaching. After hyping it up all week 5 of them showed up. These kids are really elect. They came to the activity, paid attention during the message, and even sang both the hymns(which is something i didnt even do before the mission). I also one respect by beating a 19 year old in 1v1 soccer. After the activity we created a better bond w...
