Duas Semanas Em Uma

Definitely forgot to send my email last week so this ones gonna be a little bit longer.

These last two weeks have been pretty crazy. We have had a crazy transfer with mission tour and mission conference so it has been cool. I'm just gonna make a list of the cool/crazy stuff that happend in the last little while.

#1. We have been teaching a family of 4 for the last couple of weeks. It is a grandma and her 3 grandkids. We had then marked for baptism and everything was going awesome. Last Sunday we went to get them to go to church together and the grandma was super sick, so we just took her oldest grandson. The next week we went to teach them everyday like normal and the grandma was still sick. Sunday rolls around and we pass by their house. The grandma was sitting outside her house in a rocking chair and she wasn't breathing very well. I asked where her grandkids were and she said they were sleeping because they stayed up with her all night. I told her she need the hospital that morning to make sure she was ok. She argued with me for a minute and then I told here if she didn't go to the hospital she was going to die. She finally agreed to wake up her grandkids and go to the hospital, so we left to go to church. Little later thay day at a church activity, the grandmas neighbor came and told us that she died that morning in her rocking chair. Its kinda crazy that I was the last one to probably talk to her. We havent been able to find the family since so keep them your prayers.

#2. This last week we had mission conference. We only get to get together as a mission once a year so mission conference was hype. President and Sister Smith left some awesome messages how we need to be aggressive and motivated in sharing the gospel even if we are scared to give invitations. We also got to watch an episode of The Chosen. It was super hype. After not watching anything for the last year, it was super dope to finally watch a episode of something. President got us all popcorn and Reeses cups so we felt like we were at the movies. Watching Jesus own a bunch of false prophets and pastors definitely was the highlight of my week.

#3. We brought 10 people to church on Sunday. This transfer we have been working super hard to bring people to church. Our zone broke the mission record for most people in sacrament meeting since the mission started. It was super cool to play a part in bringing a ton of people to church and helping them progress.

#4. We rented a full sized turf soccer field and played an actual soccer game with 22 missionaries. We got permission from President to let us play soccer and then we set everything up to have an actual legitimate game. It was super fun to play soccer again and I was definitely sore after not playing a real game for more than a year.

#5. I was able to give a talk in portuguese this Sunday. I was asked to give a fifteen minute talk about missionary work in sacrament meeting by the bishop. This is the 3rd time I've talked in church on the mission and the longest one I've given so far. I wrote the whole thing in portuguese without using google translate which i was pretty proud of dispite speaking portuguese everyday for 12 hours straight haha. Definitely was nervous so it started off a little slow, but in the end I was able to talk fairly decent and it was super rewarding to see the progress I've made in the language.

#6. The streets here have all turned to rivers here. It is winter in Brasil right now so everytime it rains we walk through about calf deep water. Im not really sure if I like the rain or heat better yet, but at least there is a switch up of the two.

#7. The holiday São João is coming up so little kids have been throwing firecrackers at us and everybody has been making corn based food which is kinda exciting.

#8. This email is getting way to long, at this point only my mom is probably reading, and I want to go to bed so I'm gonna call it a wrap.

Hope everyone has an awesome week this week. Hit my email up if you want to talk and I'll try to respond.

Até próxima semana
