Primera Semana Da Transferência E Carnaval
Whats up everyone. This week was full of changes and I'm still kinda lost, but its super good to have a new area.
Last monday I visited all of my recent converts and the people that we were traching which was awesome. My one convert gave me a soccer jersey and a different one switched ties with me. It was super sad to leave my area, but I was ready to get a new one.
Early Tuesday morning I called my uber for transfers. I got about half way to my new area and then he told me I could pay with my card and I didnt have any cash. So the we had to stop at a gas station for like 20 minutes and I filled his gas tank which was kinda wack. Fast forward another 45 minutes and I got to my apartment in Moreno. I got to my house, unpacked my bags, and realized I didn't have my wallet. After rethinking my life decision for a minute, I desperately called the uber driver. By some miracle my uber driver didnt steal my wallet and he just made a pay to drive it back. That was super sketch because that is the only way I have of getting money here.
My new area is 100% different from my other one. It's like a huge jungle here with a town in the middle of it. The town has super super steep hills and there isnt a single flat road, which is always fun. There also isn't hardly and shade because the buildings aren't as high as my last area. Besides those two things its a lot better. The people here have nicer houses and the food is a bit cheaper too. I kinda went back to square one in terms of knowing the members and the area, but I'm picking it up a lot faster than my first area.
Carnaval started this week which was awesome. There has veen tons of blocks which have a ton of people dancing and listening to music which was cool, but they kind of keep us awake at night because the music is so loud.
The craziest thing that happend this week was clowns. During Carnaval, in Moreno tons of like teenagers and young men dress up as clowns. They usually have a baseball bat, a 2x4, or some other weapon thats supposed to scare you. Then they just follow you around until you give them money to leave. Its pretty funny because you can tell when its just like a 15 year old so if you jump at them they run away. Just the ones that are full grown men are kinda sketchy.
The area here is a branch and not a ward because we don't have a lot of members. There is only two branches in the entire mission, so its cool to be part of one. This week we had dinner with the branch president which was awesome. He's been the president for 10 years because the branch doesnt have anyone else. He super cool. We got to try a bunch of different fruit and he showed us how to use a whip. Definitely whipped my self in the back and arm a couple of times.
This week was definitely a little awkward because of not knowing a lot of the area and the people, but it has been awesome to learn some new things. I'm super excited to learn some new stuff and to continue to help people accept the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Até próxima semana
