Eu Amo Conferência Geral

General Conference was awesome this week. We spent most of the week teaching about prophets, inviting people to general conference, and then watching conference with our investigators. I am so grateful to know English because if you think watching conference regular is hard, try doing it with the same voice of a translator for every session when the words don't match the speaker. I tried to watch a little in Portuguese, but quickly switched back to English. We were able to get 5 people to watch conference that didn't even know the church existed 5 days prior which was awesome.
On Friday we got to teach and awesome some awesome kids that we have been teaching for like a month now. This was the first time I saw there mom in the house which was not a good thing, because there were all sorts of drugs, cigarettes, and alcohol scattered across their kitchen table. Despite all this her kids are some of the nicest people I know and are accepting the gospel very well. We were able to invite one of the kids to be baptized next Sunday. After we invited him, he turned to my comp and whispered to him if I could baptize him. He then pulled out his phone and figure out how to say "will you baptize me" in English. It was a super spiritual experience, which then lead us to asking if we could watch general conference with them. The next day we went to their house and they had cleaned everything to get ready for conference. I am so glad to be able to share the gospel with such nice people in not so nice circumstances. The prophets says "the joy we feel has little to do with the circumstances of our lives and everything to do with the focus of our lives" which fits these kids perfectly.

I had two awesome miracles this week which I know that were the protection of angels and communication of the spirit. The first was a spiritual prompting I had. One morning I was repacking my bag too fit a couple extra Book of Mormons that we promised people the day before. A few days before I had put my key chain on the shelf because I figure I would not need it. This had my oil vile on it, and because my comp had one and I don't know the words for a blessing in Portuguese, I didn't think it was a big deal. The spirit told me as I was packing my bag to pack my oil vile. A few hours passed by and we went to pick up some lunch from a member, he was struggling very much and sick. He asked for a blessing and my comp checked one pocket and the another, but couldn't find his vile of oil. He apologized to the man but I knew just enough portuguese to know what my comp was saying. I was able to then get in my bag and hand my comp my oil vile. The little promptings of the spirit that may seem redundant or not important can make huge difference if we choose to follow them or not.

The second miracle that happend this week was avoiding a serious crash. One morning when me and my comp were crossing the super busy highway there was a bike that seemed like it wasn't going to stop for the light. We were already half way across and didn't had any time to do anything. The bike then t-boned another bike sending one of the riders and his bike sliding towards us at highway speeds. Frozen in fear me and my comp just watched the bike come sliding towards us. It came about two feet from us, slid like 15 feet passed us and then stopped. I know that it was not by luck, but by protection of angels and the lord that we were safe.

At this point I've yapped way to much, but I hope you all are doing good. I invited all of you guys to watch any conference you missed and to further study it throughout the next months. Shoot me an email if you want to talk and I'll get back to you on my p-day.

Até próxima semana
