Week 3

I made it past the halfway point of the MTC after what felt like 3 months and 3 days at the same time haha. My district has been picking up Portuguese pretty well, but we definitely have a lot to learn. The highlight of this week was definitely going to the temple twice. We were able to do endowments and ceilings in one week which was awesome. This week has kinda been boring in terms of crazy stuff happening, but has still been awesome to be able to learn more and more every day. This week I teach my first discussion in Portuguese so hopefully it goes well, wish me luck. One awesome thing that happened today was seeing Elder Rasband in the cafeteria. He's definitely speaking here tomorrow, because there are a lot better places in provo to get food besides the MTC.

One spiritual thing that happened this week was the lord guiding my scripture study. I got behind in my scripture study by a day or two, but it happened for a reason. I listen to a talk playing over the speakers by Elder Holland while lifting that talked about effort. It brought some questions to my mind, but that night I read the scriptures with those questions and they were answered. The scriptures I read were alma chapters 5-10. I probably wouldn't have gotten nearly as much out of them if I didn't read them after listening to that talk. Its super crazy to think about the little blessings the lord gives us that we might overlook.

Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas Everyone. It still doesnt feel like its Christmas Eve today, but whether I'm ready for it or not Christmas is coming and going. This week for me has been super busy and I have learned a lot. I went on three different divisions this week and every time I went to a different area, so I only worked in my area for about a day and a half. My first division was on Tuesday with Elder Couch. He is american and just got here 2 weeks ago, so he's still working on the portuguese. His area is more country than mine so it was super awesome. This was an awesome opportunity to put my portuguese to the test because my comp for the day didnt know anything. It was super awesome to see the progress I have made in the language and to communicate pretty much normally with everyone we taught. The next division was with our LZs. Melhor Pday Da Missão

This week was super awesome and we ended with the best pday of the mission so far. This week we have been preparing a family to get baptized and helping them to stop drinking coffee. As we have continued to go to their house, they have been more willing to participate in the lesson. The first week we were there the kids didn't participate much and their parents made them come listen, but after a week or two they are always the first ones sat down ready to hear the lessons. Its been super cool to see there progress and I hope we can help them be baptized this week. I went on a division this week to the lzs area again. I was able to talk to some of the people that I taught there last time which was awesome. The goal of the division was to mark as many people as possible for baptism. So the entire day the only lesson we taught was baptism, which worked. We were able to put six people on a dates for baptisms and one of them even got baptized the next day. Mais Uma Semana Na Missão

Whats up everyone. This week was very repetitive, but I also promised my mom that I would write another email again. This week we worked super hard and went on a division with the lz's. We had a lot of cool experiences and put some people on dates for baptisms this sunday. We have set huge goals to end off this transfer. Its crazy a transfer has already come and gone.
