Week 3

Image
I made it past the halfway point of the MTC after what felt like 3 months and 3 days at the same time haha. My district has been picking up Portuguese pretty well, but we definitely have a lot to learn. The highlight of this week was definitely going to the temple twice. We were able to do endowments and ceilings in one week which was awesome. This week has kinda been boring in terms of crazy stuff happening, but has still been awesome to be able to learn more and more every day. This week I teach my first discussion in Portuguese so hopefully it goes well, wish me luck. One awesome thing that happened today was seeing Elder Rasband in the cafeteria. He's definitely speaking here tomorrow, because there are a lot better places in provo to get food besides the MTC. One spiritual thing that happened this week was the lord guiding my scripture study. I got behind in my scripture study by a day or two, but it happened for a reason. I listen to a talk playing over the speakers by E...

Week 2

The second week of the MTC was definitely a lot longer than the first one, but it has still been awesome. This week we went into immersion so starting Thursday, every single class we have is taught in portuguese. I have definitely learned a lot of portuguese in just three days, but sometimes I just feel like I'm listening to the teachers yap haha. This week we went to the Mount Timp temple which was absolutely amazing. We got to do baptisms and initiatories. I felt the spirit so strongly in the temple and got to catch up on my scripture study while we waited to do ordinances which was awesome. My comp and I decided to read the whole BOOK OF MORMON before we leave the MTC so it has been a lot, but has been awesome to have a goal that we're working on together.  Something else that was super cool this week was getting to have a devotional where Elder Bednar spoke to us in person. He talked about the truth of the BOM and how it would have been impossible for Joseph Smith to ...

First Week At The MTC

I finally made it to the actual MTC. This week has definitely been super busy and chaotic but has also been super spiritual and I have learned a lot. I met my comp and district in person on Wednesday. Everyone is super chill and cool. We pretty much do everything together and are basically like brothers even after only like 6 days. We have played a lot of basketball and lifted weights every morning so far. Everyone says the first week is the busiest and I hope they're right because in the last 6 days I've had a total of like maybe 7 hours that haven't been spent in a classroom or in a devotional. We have definitely had our fun though with kadama tournaments, wrestling outside the dorms, and making sick freestyle beats. This week we get to go to the temple twice which is also super cool and I'm way excited for it. One thing we've focused hard on is testimony and conversion which has been awesome. Last night we had a devotional about keeping standards, living the comm...
